TRIANGOESTM ...from an idea by Manuel Garcia This is one of our larger creations, over 6 years in development: squares, parallelograms, and triangles in every combination of 5 colors form 80 unique, handfitted acrylic tiles. The booklet provides hundreds of progressively more intricate puzzles plus rules for 15 games. The two-sided vinyl gameboard (its reverse is a black-and-white grid) is a colorful 13x36" banner with rod and cord ready to hang. For 1 to 10 players, ages 8 to adult. Triangoes appeared on Games magazine's 1988 list of the year's best games. $225 Larger image ofTriangoes tile set |
TRIANGOESTM JR.
...developed by Kate Jones This 15-piece two-color subset of Triangoes has continued to delight us with its variety of shapes and color symmetries, even years after we originally explored it. It accounts for the first half of the puzzle repertoire for Triangoes (above). The all-acrylic set has its own 8½" tray with two corner triangles that double as wildcards. Triangoes Jr. is available in 6 color mixes. For 1 or 2 players (and several kibitzers), ages 8 to adult. $65 |
COOKIE JARTM ... designed by Michael Dowle The 13 unique tiles are all the shapes you get when you add one to six curvy triangles to the edges of a concavely curved hexagon. The colors tell you how many attachments each tile has. One of the amazing aspects of this graceful set is that any one of the tiles can occupy the center of the curvaceous star in the tray. For extra visual appeal, you can even get the colors separated when the core hexagon is in the center (shown). A hundred other lovely and tantalizing figures can be solved outside the tray, resplendent with mirror and rotational symmetries (browse through its book). All-acrylic, in 8½" tray. Recommended for 1 to 3 players, ages 10 to adult. Two strategy games are included. $65 |

HEXMOZAIXTM ...created by Charles Butler One of our most sophisticated sets. The 12 all-different, handfitted acrylic tiles (one sample shown) are inlaid with three colors that evoke the optical illusion of three-dimensional shapes. They can form gorgeous designs where colors match and flow between tiles. Two games involve joining tiles to score points by matching and extending (or blocking) a color. For its 25th anniversary in 2012 we introduced new frosted colors. You can order your preference of bold, blue ice and pool colors. For 1 to 4 players, ages 8 to adult. $65 |

HEXMOZAIXTM II ...created by Charles Butler 18 additional tiles expand the original Hexmozaix set, and suddenly combinations become possible that before were intractable. Larger game formats will please those who like greater complexity. We make this set color-compatible with the first group, so when ordering Hexmozaix II please specify the colors of your Hexmozaix set. Or you can order the combined set of 30 tiles in your preferred colors at one time. For its 25th anniversary in 2013 we introduced new frosted colors. The expanded set is suitable for 1 to 6 players, ages 12 to adult. The Hexmozaix II set, $95 |

ARC ANGLESTM ...by Kate Jones
Originally designed for Kadon's 25th anniversary in 2005, the earliest sets had silver paths on black tiles. Based on the dissection of a pentagon, each arc is 72 degrees. The paths connect any of five points on one edge to any of five points on the other edge, an elegant 25-fold permutation. Five arcs can form a ring, and the whole set can make five separate 4" rings, with neatly matched paths. Or combine 15 arcs into a larger closed loop, or the full 25 into the largest closed loop (see also contest question at left). Lasercut acrylic, handpainted paths, with four little screens to hide your tiles when playing the game, all in drawstring pouch. Path colors may vary. A curvy challenge for 1 to 4 players, ages 8 to adult. $35 |
New! LINEDANCETM ...by Elijah Allen From the moment we first showed it, this lively path-building game was a hit. The 16 all-different tile patterns are based on Kaliko's subset of three-color pieces. Hand-inlaid as large (2-inch) acrylic hexagons, LineDance on its star-shaped leather-like vinyl game mat can engage up to 6 players in ingenious strategies. Players move three pawns of their own color across the field. Each traveler wears a different color "cap" and can travel only on its own color path. Unpredictable combinations on every turn. Detailed, illustrated rulebook. For 1 to 6 players, ages 10 to adult. $95
