Kate's Meta-graphicsTM |
Meta-graphics are an original artform of Kate Jones, capturing in fluid, abstract shapes certain concepts, feelings, dynamics, relationships, and the deepest yearnings of the human spirit. The designs are not explicit: each viewer can take from them whatever chord resonates. There are no wrong answers, no matter what inspiration Kate may have held during the process of creation.
The one design element that can have some consistent meaning attached to it as an intentional theme is the prevalence of ovals of various sizes and shapes scattered throughout. These are sensors through which a being perceives the world and through which the being can act upon the world.... the interface of life and reality. Make what you wish of it. Unlike gamepuzzles which are playable art, Meta-graphics have no movable pieces. The pieces are inlaid and permanently affixed to their tray. These puzzles are purely conceptual, with unlimited solutions. |
Duality symbolizes the two-fold nature of Nature and its dynamic processes. The interpretation of the image is entirely within the power of imagination of the viewer, what feelings are evoked and what deeper recognitions are suggested. This design is available in the Coloring Book as a do-it-yourself coloring project. You can also order Duality as a hand-inlaid, signed mosaic with your custom colors, in an 18x23" framed tray to hang on wall or display on easel.
Quo Vadis means, "Where are you going?" and the image suggests several roads for the entity in the center to choose to follow, while at the moment being hemmed in by phenomena like war, tradition, population pressures, change and various other risks. You can order Quo Vadis as a hand-inlaid, signed mosaic with your custom colors, in a 23x23" framed tray to hang on wall or display on easel.
New designs may be added here as they are created. |
