Game inventor: Henry Kwok |
Henry Kwok works as a freelance English-Chinese translator in Singapore. His hobbies are chess, board games, sudoku and other puzzles.
He is married and has a daughter born in 1995. His Sudoku puzzles have been used in the Second World Sudoku Championship 2007 in Prague and in the National Italian Sudoku Championship 2007. You can find his ingenious Sudoku variants and other puzzles on various math educational websites and puzzle websites. Two fictitious characters who made a deep impression on Henry were the Greek hero, Odysseus, and American novelist Ernest Hemingway’s eponymous “Old Man.” Both men represent the courage, strength and endurance of the human race. As the English poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson, described in his poem, “Ulysses,” the Greek hero’s journey illustrates “the need of going forward and braving the struggle of life." That poem contains such memorable verses as: And this gray spirit yearning in desireWith this same spirit yearning to follow knowledge, Henry Kwok has been exploring various ways to create new, original puzzles and board games.
