  • For its seventh year, the International Festival of Mind and Doris Championship, a competition of creativity featuring our Doris puzzle, took place in several European countries: the Republic of Serbia, Timis (Romania), Bács-Kiskun (Hungary), Styria (Republic of Austria), Vukovar-Srijem County, Osijek-Baranja county and Istria (Croatia), the City of Ljubljana (Slovenia), and the Autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia (Republic of Italy).

The project, Festival of Mind, is organized under the auspices of the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities-National Communities in cooperation with MENSA Serbia and the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management, FIMEK, Novi Sad.

Beginning in October 2016 and organized by Zdravko Zivkovic, the creator of Doris, the 7th annual competitions ran for nine months. This year's motto was "Unlock DNA Creativity". The works of the competitors were evaluated by an international jury made up of eleven prominent Mensa members from the United States, Greece, Slovenia, Serbia, and Australia, among them Kate Jones from U.S.A. and Teja Krasek, an artist from Slovenia.

The Grand Final awards were presented on Sunday, May 14, 2017, in the Great Hall of Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The celebration ceremony was hosted by the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities-National Communities, whose Deputy Secretary, Milan Kovacevic, welcomed the audience. The solemn ceremony of selection and announcement of the winners was attended by Velimir Plesa, Croatian General Consul in Subotica; by representatives of the Provincial Secretariat; and by the student finalists, their teachers, representatives of the regions, and representatives of embassies.

    The top three winners were:

    • First place: Ambra Rossi, Lyseum Dante Alighieri—Trieste, Italy: "Eye"

    • Second place: Martina Pollastri, Lyseum Umberto and Enrico Nordio—Trieste, Italy: "Pirate"
