Kadon established a special annual award to be presented to the individual or organization that created the best new pentomino or polyomino idea of the year. Each award is a unique custom design.

For the year 2008, we were delighted to present the award to Kenneth Blackledge for his elegant designs of a complete alphabet formed by the ten Ten-Yen pieces. Each letter fits within an 8x6 rectangle with 12 spaces strategically placed to create a letter.

The award display was designed by Kate Jones and custom-made by Thomas Atkinson with the Kadon laser. The pieces are removable and playable.

A classic certificate accompanied the award.
