A Word Contest

Double Duty
by Stephen Sniderman

To fill in each sentence below, you'll need a six-letter word that fits into both sets of blanks.

Example:  The pRESIDEnt and his wife RESIDE in the White House.

After you have filled in a sentence, transfer the framed letter to the corresponding blank in the answer box below (sentence 1), then solve that sentence in the same way. The word that fits into that sentence is the solution to this puzzle. Send that word, by email or snailmail, to:

Stephen Sniderman
2214 Coronado Avenue
Youngstown, OH 44504

Prizes will be awarded to the first three individuals whose correct solutions we receive before the contest closes. All who send in correct solutions will be listed in the solvers' circle in the next issue of The Life of Games, along with the full solution. This contest closes at that time. So you've got until at least January 1, 2000.
