Megallo
While part of a guest showcase in Kadon's gamepuzzles website, Megallo was chosen by Games as one of the 100 best games for the year 1999. Here's Burt Hochberg's write-up from their December 1998 "Buyer's Guide to Games" in the abstract strategy games category:
MEGALLO (2 players)
Actually a product of Tel-Games but marketed by Kadon, Megallo is an elegant, three-dimensional 4x4 alignment game in which the four boards are not stacked vertically but laid out on three levels. The object is to get four of your chips in a straight line in any direction on any one level, or aligned in the same relative positions on all four levels, or — an alignment very hard to visualize — on a diagonal line through the center of the imaginary cube formed by the four levels. If this game doesn't make your head spin, try four-dimensional chess. —BH
